SimRacing Expo 2026 ran from 16 to 18 October at Messe Frankfurt, and most big hardware brands used it to show what is coming next: some products are on sale now, others are 2027 prototypes.

This round-up sticks to what the manufacturers themselves have confirmed. Every price and spec below comes from the brand's own website or press release, checked on 19 October 2026. If a brand has not announced something, we say so.

What happened at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt (16–18 October 2026)

The headline themes were clear:

  • More direct drive for less money. Asetek put a firm price and date on its DD10 wheelbase.
  • Direct drive comes to more consoles. Moza showed its first wheelbases licensed for PlayStation 5.
  • Wheels with big screens. Fanatec gave an early look at a steering wheel with a 5-inch colour display.

Asetek DD10: €499 direct drive, launching 27 October

Asetek confirmed that the DD10 wheelbase launches on 27 October 2026 at 11:00 CET. The price is $499 excluding VAT, or €499 including 19% VAT, as stated in Asetek's expo recap (15 October 2026).

10 Nm, upgradeable to 14 Nm with the Boost Kit

According to Asetek's DD10 product page (checked 19 October 2026):

  • Torque: 10 Nm, or 14 Nm with the Asetek Racing Wheelbase Boost Kit, which is sold separately
  • Power supply: 96 W
  • Encoder: 14-bit, 16,384 steps per turn
  • Weight: 7.92 kg
  • Warranty: 60 months

Xbox only with an Xbox-compatible Asetek wheel

The DD10 supports PC. For Xbox, Asetek says you need an Xbox-compatible Asetek Racing steering wheel. The base alone does not make your setup Xbox-ready, so check the wheel before you buy. Asetek does not list PlayStation support for the DD10.

Asetek GT Nova wheel (March 2027, €299.99)

Asetek also revealed GT Nova, a new GT-style steering wheel. It launches in March 2027 at $299.99 excluding VAT, or €299.99 including 19% VAT (Asetek, 15 October 2026).

Its features, as Asetek describes them:

  • A 1.3-inch white OLED screen (128×64 pixels) for live data such as gear and speed
  • "MultiLink", where one rotary switch changes what the other controls adjust, turning two controls into 24 inputs
  • Settings for the wheelbase, pedals and wheel that you can change on the wheel itself, without opening the software on your PC

On top of that, Asetek introduced a 5-year warranty on all Asetek Racing products bought after 15 October 2026.

PXN S16 and S23: first hands-on in Europe

PXN used Frankfurt for the first European hands-on sessions with its S16 direct drive wheelbase. In its press release of 13 October 2026, PXN lists the S16 at 16 Nm of constant torque, with a 24-bit magnetic encoder and a torque sensor.

The bigger S23, rated at 23 Nm constant torque, was on display only. PXN also had its VD6 Bundle to try: wheel, base and pedals in one box, with 6 Nm constant and 7 Nm peak torque.

PXN's press release does not give prices or release dates for the S16 or S23.

Moza brings direct drive to PS5 (R5S Pro, R16S Ultra)

Moza first showed its PlayStation 5 line-up at Tokyo Game Show on 17 September 2026 and brought it to Frankfurt. It consists of three products:

  • R5S Pro Racing Simulator: wheelbase, steering wheel and pedals in one package
  • R16S Ultra Racing Simulator: the R16S wheelbase plus a steering wheel
  • R16S Ultra Direct Drive Wheel Base: the base on its own

Moza says this is its first officially licensed hardware for PS5, with native support for Gran Turismo 7. Two things are still open. Moza has not yet announced prices, torque figures or a release date. It also notes that the products will work with PS5 subject to Sony's final product approval.

Fanatec Project Obsidian and Trak Racer

Fanatec and Trak Racer, both part of Corsair, shared one stand. In their 16 October 2026 press release, Fanatec showed:

  • Project Obsidian: a prototype steering wheel with a 5-inch colour display under one piece of glass, RGB-backlit buttons and an all-aluminium body. It can send telemetry over USB or Wi-Fi. The launch target is 2027, with no price yet.
  • ClubSport Formula V3 Oracle Red Bull Racing: a licensed wheel with a 2.7-inch OLED display, due in mid-November 2026.
  • ClubSport Pedals V4: an early look at a redesigned mid-range pedal set, also planned for 2027.
  • Podium Pedals Sport: a two-pedal set, on sale from the Fanatec website since 16 October.
  • ClubSport F1 Racing System: its European debut. It is built around the ClubSport DD+ (18 Nm), which is licensed for PlayStation.

Trak Racer showed two TRZ motorcycle simulators, licensed racing simulators and Hot Wheels-branded cockpits.

What this means if you're buying a wheelbase now

Expo news is exciting, but most of it isn't on sale yet. Some practical points:

  • Want direct drive soon? The Asetek DD10 has a confirmed price and a date only days away. Just check the platform: it supports PC, and Xbox only with an Xbox-compatible Asetek wheel.
  • On PS5? Moza's PS5 bases are announced, but without a price, torque figures or Sony's final approval, you can't plan around them yet. Read our guide to PS5 direct drive wheels in 2026 for the options you can buy today.
  • Prototypes are not products. Project Obsidian and ClubSport Pedals V4 are aimed at 2027. Specs and prices can still change.
